Visio does a very good job with do workflows in SharePoint and the ability to create data connected diagrams is exceptional and I don't know of any product that does that better. Visio is a purchased product and ERD tools that are quite good are available for free, including a number of no cost products from Microsoft. However, I think that a little insight is needed. The ERD does appear to have been removed and I agree that the Visio just does not seem to be living up to the expectations that many of the people who have used it over the years.

Visio has gone from a very powerful database diagramming tool to a simple drawing program in this respect. Where you can get free stencils, there are more online, but most are old or already included in with Visiobut stencils are easy to make and people who use Visio are always looking for new ones. More Good News: You can create your own stencils, download stencils others have made and make your own stencil sheets. It would have been nice to have the ability to Storyboard Win 8 metro designs and Phone apps. The sad thing is I can think of uses for these symbols. Really, vacuum tubes symbols, I guess you would use them for musical amplifiers or really slow computers. Unfortunately there is still the same lame shapes for software, totally useless unless you are used to using them, but I have my own set.

Well, Visio is much better more connected and collaboration that was expected in Visio made into this version of Visio. With electronic circuits things got really small and complex.
